Hey folks, I'm new here and thought I'd introduce myself. My name is John and I'm a lapsed artist living in out in the sticks of Northern Illinois. Been out of the art thing for a while, but I'm trying to weasel back into it.

I Graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2004 with a BFA in Time Arts having switched from computer science, but when I was in high school all I ever wanted to do was draw comic books.

Fast forward to present day and I'm getting ready to move to Chicago and spend more time on art stuffs and venturing into screen printing. Currently my modest collection of art consists of AA's Doomdrips Doom Missle, Justin Hampton's Lollapalooza 2008 burgundy editions, and a Dandy Warhols poster.

I've been lurking here most of the day and currently experiencing information overload. Every answer I find begs more questions. If anyone could point me in a good place for a noob to start reading, I'd be much appreciative.

Hope to stick around to learn some things, find some inspiration, and contribute the same when I can.

If you are in Chicago next weekend, try and stop by the Pitchfork Music Festival at Union Park, there will be a Flatstock Poster show there with over 20 booths of poster artists...you can find out more on this site...

Even though it is information overload I can't stress enough how much you can learn from simply searching these forums. Just take a deep breath and have a beer or strawberry milkshake with chocolate chips in it every 20 minutes or so.
