Saw this yesterday and loved it. It was very entertaining. I love Ellen Page and every indie movie she's in. The details of rules or any of that crap misses the point.

It's like Star Wars nerds arguing about light sabers.

That would just make them feel fat, you know, because of the whole camera adding 15lbs to you thing...

Who said to the people who clamed the camera added weight: "Then stop eating them!"

Or as I like to say, Whip It! is to roller derby as The Big Lebowski is to bowling.

In other words, it don't matter, because the sport of choice isn't the point of the film.

I thought it was pretty hilarious. I am sure Detroit would happily take the job again. Albuquerque was also up for the gig - I was told the old train station downtown was the spot...it looks very similar to the Detroit site.

Anywho, I personally couldn't be more proud.

Pretty much good to great reviews from critics and viewers - glad some gigposter folks are enjoying it. I for one can't recommend it enough. Here is a pretty dead on review:

    That's awesome.

Those girls are tough too. Maybe not as tough as female boxers / fight clubbers, but still cool.

    Congrats to your sister.

Just watched this and enjoyed it a great deal - perfect pace and lightness for my post NYE addled head...

checking for threads on films here has become a bit of a habit (after watching them I mean) to see who's tastes and insights are interesting - I was expecting there to have been some involvement with one or more of you wonderfully hip and fabulous community in the production...I thought extras though - kudos to your sister Jason! coincidentally my sister has just completed her debut as production designer for a UK indie rom com Honeymooner starring the lad from UK TV's Shameless...chuffed!

hopefully the first screening will be confirmed for the Edinburgh film festival next month... woop!
