Plight of The Black Rocker

anybody see that last night? it was a documentary about what it's like to be a black rocker. an all black metal band or hard rock band (as opposed to funk or hip hop or blues or jazz etc. etc.) but straight ahead ROCK. basically, they can't get an even break because the"man" wants to pigeonhole black people and deny them access to a white audience.

what 'man'? i thought the record companies collapsed a few years ago. why don't they get on-line and market their stuff direct - just like everybody else has to?

any thoughts?

Huh? What exactly is an "average black musician"? Blues is even simpler than rock. Rap has no melodies or instruments even. On the other hand, jazz is much more complex than rock.

Anyway, there's a cool black rock band out now called Dragons of Zynth.
