Bloc Party?
arthur lee (and Love).
he defined so much about what was cool in rock. he almost completely forgotten today. he defined hip psych/punk los angeles rock in the mid sixties. ultra cool, really crazy dude. brilliant.
without arthur lee, no hendrix, no punk, no funk, no sly, no doors, no nuttin'.
Drag City put out the DEATH record. It is amazing. Made around the same time the MC5 were doing their thing. Art, you would love it.

"Every single Crosshair poster I've ever seen is almost exactly the same. Do these guys even have a bit of creativity in them? I mean, come one - shitty old building pics photoshopped with text over them. Pretty pathetic to say the least."
"it just seems like so little effort is put into creating this? am i missing something?"

It's all kind of silly if you trace back where rock has it's roots
I think people in general try to find a place to put music styles and kind of
put things into catagories. I'm talking more mainstream things like the lame ass grammies or radio in general. You don't have any stations that play new stuff unless it's backed by alot of money. I like music no matter what style it is. I'm all over the place.
I just got into Mile Davis, even though I have know about him for years.
I do understand trying to make it in the music industry on your own terms. It's very, very very hard. You either have to sell some of your soul or bust your ass and never stop.
There was a local band from fresno called knucklehead back in the late eighties. All black dudes except the drummer and they flat out kicked ass
It was like a punch in the face
