Default UPS Grrrrrr

How, why. Grrrr.
I made a crate out of 3/4" plywood. Inside the crate my edition is packed in four separate packages. Each of these is wrapped in paper strapped to cardboard, wrapped in bubble. These are in turn set inside 6 sides of 1.5" styrofoam. Which is further protected from rain with plastic sheeting.

What does the customer get.
One big cardboard box with the prints randomly rolled inside with no packing material what so ever. Footprints on part on the edition with track mark where a dolly rolled over it. Everything is destroyed.

UPS destroyed 2 shipments of my book over the last month (36 books destroyed). Not the shipments to customers - but delivered to me to ship out.

I hate them.

It's not that they just destroy packages...
They do it in spectacular ways.
Slam fire doors on them.
Drive trucks over them.
Drop them out of airplanes.
Throw them into blast furnaces.
And then rather than documenting it or notifying you, they go ahead and deliver the remains like nothing happened.
"Maybe he won't notice..."

I'm two years into a UPS boycott. No delivery has been fucked up in that time.

LOL was that crate you sent out to me for Flatstock last year UPS?

Whatever happened with that?

3' x 4' 20 color edition destroyed.

The real kicker was that there was a Luan crate inside the bigger crate with our printer's proofs and return FedEx label on it. That was opened and thrown out.

That sucks. Inside USA?
We just finished a claim with YRC. How you can crush and bend a tubular steel frame, I'll never know. Unless you took out higher specified insurance, you are probably fucked on an art claim.
With that size (3x4) curious how you constructed the crate/overall size, and whether it shipped flat. Ours was very large and flat (6'x7'x24" high), We are rethinking this, as they pile shit on top - maybe these types of skinny crates need to be shipped standing on their sides?
