Thanks everyone. It's been almost 2 years since I bought the car to this point and there is still a lot more detail work to do.
The seats were grey and I used a special leather dye system to recolour them to black. They are far more supportive than the original flat seats, so I can take a corner now without sliding halfway across the interior.
One thing I didn't touch on are the awesome wheels.
They're a modern version of the classic Cragar S/S wheel, only in 17" and made of aluminum instead of 14" and steel. They look amazing with the 3-spoke knockoffs as well.
As far as cost, I try not to think about it, as it is definitely more than the car is worth at this point. With the original cost of the car, it's knocking on $30K.
I had to sell my '70 Fury to settle some debts, I bought this car a few months after that all got worked out.

thoroughly engaged me. thnx,
I resent the "bathroom caulking is not for cars!" comment.
Otherwise, I fully approve.
Mostly little stuff this week, nothing worth taking photos of - put in the crappy old sill plates I found to tide me over until the new ones arrive, undercoated the rear half of the car, put in the delay wiper switch, and fixed the gas tank vent tube, so now the interior doesn't smell like gas all the time.
One thing that was worth photographing was the new rear sway bar.

The car turns nice and flat, but now the loosy-goosey steering is giving me problems! Got to tighten that up!

I'd like to see your car some day.
heres my halfassed 'build thread' for the Charger
finally got the motor! *INSTALL PICS* -its running!-VIDEO * ITS ON THE STREET!*
looks good man. i'm not really into fords but your car has made me a fan of the Torino fastback. i hope to be able to get an old car and do the same one day.
art is not a turd!
breaking hearts and telling lies is my vocation.
You did it the right way, Frank - mechanicals first, pretty second! In my case I can handle the mechanical bolt-ons and can't do bodywork, so getting it looking good first made more sense.
Headers and new 2 1/2" dual exhaust to some Edelbrock Series 40 knock-offs should be done this week, then it'll sound like a proper musclecar.
Up next I clean up the interior a bit, and fix the sloppy steering. That'll have to be it for awhile because I am completely out of money now.
I might drive it to Chicago for Flatstock! Depends on a few factors!

I was so tired from moving the studio into storage yesterday that I didn't spend a ton of time working on the car, but I did get some stuff done - oil change, replaced the power steering pump, and installed the front sway bar. Sorry for the rusty shit - no one ever sees this stuff normally so it's the last thing on my list to work on, and I plan on replacing most of the front end anyway. Why clean up stuff you're going to toss anyway?
It's nice and thick - 1 1/8" and at least 20lbs. of solid steel. This car corners really flat now!
Some photos of the exhaust install - passenger side was really easy.
However, they had to do some serious mods on the clutch z-bar to make room for the driver's side, which changed the clutch geometry a bit. It probably cost me the most of the labor expenses.
The headers are nice quality - ceramic coated, thick-walled. They fit well and sit nice and tucked up.
Custom X-pipe. Sits up right under the crossmember.
It's basically single pipes front to back - nice clean install. The knock-off mufflers are a bit too loud for me; I prefer more of a deep rumble. But it's really fucking loud, which is always good!
