I just had this happen with a client... I spent a month arguing with them that X amount of work = X amount of pay and that it was too bad they underbudgeted with their client but they kept asking for more work... more than the initial quote... I finally ended up talking to the president and he basically apologized and paid... but it was a pain in the ass and 1 month without getting the balance paid... I am tempted to send this to the person I dealt with

How ironic—the chef and the guy wanting to know how he made it so they can just make it at home—I just took what's gonna amount to a 25% cut annual income because of jackassery like this.

(and I just sent it to them)

That's scary cuz it's true. I've actually had people use "rollover the cost" and "can you show us how you made this" on me recently.

I've made it a habit of shaking off the flakiest client I have every few months.
Thanks for reminding me to line them up again.

The other classic line was "I'm not making any money on this either".
