    iPhone help!

    A friend of mine is selling me his 1st gen iPhone for cheap and Its basically a iPod Touch with a camera without the sim card. I've been playing with it and it works great around wi-fi areas but, I heard you can turn on the phone & data with a GO PHONE plan. Is that true? Have any of you or your friends tried this yet? I know a lot of you are iPhone experts so, thanks for your help!
