I remember around 1984 my friend Rich and I stumbled across Metallica's Jump In The Fire e.p. in the record store ( in our bondage pants and sporting Mohawks and charged up hair.). We though it was very weird that these long haired guys were wearing Discharge T-shirts on the back cover.
A few months later we were at my friends house listening to Misfits Earth A.D and I noticed he had Ride The Lightning by Metallica. I put it on and was instantly sold on Metal. Fight Fire With Fire was way more intense than anything else ant hardcore band at the time was putting out. That songs changed my entire path. I started pretty much only listening to metal at that point.
I really, really want Metallica to do well. They meant a lot to me for many years. I just don't think they have it in them anymore. Kind of a bummer.
