I echo what Maxflo said, there's some killer riffs on the album, moments of real old metal riffs, but overall the songs are just too long.

my 2¢: pretty much what maxflo said and after hating it, then soaking it in for a while, i have decided that i like 2 songs on there a lot and there 2 others that are pretty good...

All nightmare long is my favorite track and the video for it is sweet. Unforgiven 3 is my next favorite. the other two good ones are Broken, Beat & Scarred and the Instrumental Suicide & Redemption.

my biggest gripes are James' vocals and Kirks solos....his solos are pretty much just shit. like he didnt apply himself at all. they are just rehashes of other solos. The solo in unforgiven 3 is just friggin brutally awful....

I wanted the "wall of sound" that they used to have on Ride The Lightning and Master. It just isn't there anymore. If the songs were under 5 minutes and it had that sound I would say it's a really great record.
