But hey that's ok, now the less fortunate can do the things they want to do on her dime. Now on top you can count 5-10% for all the groceries she buys plus any other taxes, property, gas, car. By the end of it she probably pays closer to $85,000 to support the common good. Now if one looks at those numbers as a budding career minded person who wants to work harder than the next guy, what's their motivation?

There is no way in hell Obama is going to be able to stick to his Tax promise anyway. Unless he pulls all the troops out the day he is put in office (which won't happen because he's pushing for a surge in Afghanistan , and making accusations about Pakistan), cuts back spending, and puts his health plan on the back burner. We're in too deep a hole right now to be lying to ourselves. He may be the best option of the two main dudes but, I'm just not optimistic his change will be anything more than a tag line 4 years from now.
I did some research, and you're more correct than I was, but the $164XXX - $357XXX bracket is being increased to 36%, not 39%. And Obama's plan will "adjust the thresholds of these rates slightly to ensure that no... single making less than $200000 was affected by these changes." So I guess she'll pay 3% more of what she makes over $200000.

yep...combined we pay about 80-100 grand a year on taxes and we put ZERO demands on any sort of public money, welfare or health care. we pay for it all out of our pockets, dont commit crimes, have insurance, invest in businesses that provide employment etc...and they want more money from us to kill idiots or save junkies.I even fucking pick up litter on the sidewalk.

so in effect, we are being punished for being good, honest, productive citizens.

yea we are not real sure what to do with what we have left. we have a guy butt when things went to shit that didn't really matter. now we are freakin out... leave it where it's at and hope for the economy to recover i guess. butt it will take forever to regain what we lost in a short time. especially since we have so much less money. any hot stock tips??? at least we are super frugal and the house is paid for so we'll get by. butt now we have nothing to fall back on. it sucks mucho

with all due respect - it's your country after all- but to decide that whatever the tax hike is for the high earners is only going to fund crackhead welfare cheats is pretty naive.

the bloat of the government, along with all the things the government pays for that are good and make it a better country, is fucking massive. your country's deficit is incomprehensible and still growing.

the amount paid for welfare and shit is minimal. so why is it always presented in terms of 'hey they are going to tax the shit out of you and give it to poor people.'

who is supposed to pay the bill (the entire bill)? As far as I understood (and what do I know being a northerner) the rich under Bush were given the biggest tax breaks during that time period. and the government grew. and the debt grew.

both things that aren't supposed to happen when fiscal conservatives run things. It's bullshit - we have conservatives in power up here - they have looted the treasury, gone into deficit, and increased spending, even during this economic downturn.

oh yeah george....grey market is where it's at. plus tax avoidance, not tax evasion. Your gal needs to start a business and get some write-offs.

Paul, that sucks. but you are young, you got your health, you got a house, you can still fish. Face it you'll be screenprinting when you are 75. you'll never retire.

i do not see it as a rep or dem deal. I know where the tax money goes...60% goes to medicare and social security and so on. and to the wages of millions of fucking bureacrats.

all I know is I have been working since i was 15 years old, and will do so until the day i fall over dead . I do not mind paying my taxes. personally I think everyone should pay a flat rate-10%. thats fair and will be more than enough.

I also am not reallly obsessed with money and 'the future'. I am happy to make it, spend it, enjoy it and eat dog food while living in a cardboard box when I am old.

I am risk taker by nature.

Sharon, however, is not, and the combined stock market, looks like taxes are going up combo has really really hit her hard. She DOES worry about being old.

stuff another 300 million people into Canada, and you'll see. Its out of hand, the fedsneed to drastically cut everything to thebone and get the fuck organized, instead of creating more bureau-bloat.
