The hand shake is iffy for me. Yes - maybe they did shake hands earlier, but why leave him hanging after tapping him on the shoulder??

As for "that one" - I don't necesarrily see it as a race thing at all. I do, however, agree that it shows Obama is getting to him. I'm sure McCain is kicking himself for saying that and I'm sure it only came out on impulse. You could see he was feeling bitter and very angry. His body language was insane all night.

My litmus test is foreign policy, which I think makes the two major parties nearly identical. Consider both the candidates' remarkably undemocratic rejection of real justice for Palestinians and sanctimonious positions regarding officially sanctioned enemies (Iran, Venezuela, Syria, Russia).

Just my opinion. The framework of mainstream debate in the US is crippling to real democracy.

I will agree with everyone else, Obama clearly extended his hand to McCain (even if they'd already shook hands once, this much is clear) and he got left hanging.

Look. African Americans are pretty sensitive about the whole "You people" thing so its an easy thing for people who already see McCain as at least semi racist to think that "That one" was a watered down version of "You people".

I think he was trying to do what he did in the first debate and try to make Obama seem inexperienced. naive. and insignificant. I think however.... he fucked up.
