You have to explain it or the masses won't get it. I bet half the people in the audience that I saw it with didn't even connect those two things.

I didn't get it at all, but I'm a Brit so I'm not up on my FISA stuff...

Blonde > my personal exposition highlight was when Gordon and his sidekick discovered the two dead security guys:

Batman: "Look at the name badges."
Gordon: "John Harvey and Michael Dent."
Sidekick: ".........OMG HARVEY DENT!"

*audience rolls eyes*

Good news and bad news....

"HOLLYWOOD - Johnny Depp is tipped to play Batman villain The Riddler in the next installment of the comic book movie series.

After the huge success of The Dark Knight, which has taken $440 million at the worldwide box office, producers are confident they can convince Depp to take on Christian Bale's Batman on the big screen.

And, according to the National Enquirer, studio bosses also want Oscar winner Philip Seymour Hoffman onboard to play another of the Caped Crusader's arch-foe, the Penguin.

The Riddler was played on the small screen in the 1960s by Frank Gorshin and in 1995 movie Batman Forever by Jim Carrey. Hoffman would be stepping into the shoes of TV and movie Penguins Burgess Meredith and Danny DeVito.

A source tells the Enquirer, "(Producers) are convinced that the role of the Riddler is perfect for Depp. Johnny's a pro. He'll be able to take direction from director Chris Nolan and still make the character his own.

"And what better Penguin is there than Philip Seymour Hoffman."

As much as I like Philip Seymour Hoffman, I can't imagine they could make a cool Penguin.

Depp has the chops...... I think he might be able to pull it off.

I can't stand the Penguin and dont think he has a place in the newer ultra-realistic Batman universe...I think even Nolan said he didnt think he was a practical villain for the kind of movies he wanted to make....

I could be wrong though...I mean Nolan came up with the coolest Batmobile design ever, so who knows what he could come up with Penguin-wise...I just can't get past seeing him as a silly fat dude with an umbrella who keeps going WAKWAKWAKWAKWAK

Nolan has said that the Penguin is a horrible character.

But hey at least it's not catwoman.

See if you can get a copy of the "Joker's Arkham" mini that came out a couple of weeks ago featuring The Penguin, who has never been one of my favorite characters - Tim Burton's imagining being the exception.

After the first time reading it (I've read it twice since) I thought to myself; "Yeah. I get this guy now."

This week's "Joker's Arkham" featured Two-Face, and it was a fukkin' heartbreaker!
