I wish I would have gotten to hear the origin of his facial scars but Batman cut him off.

I've seen it twice. It's hands down the best comic book movie I've ever seen. The second viewing was just as good, if not made better by the fact that I could really look for details that I missed in the first view. I have no idea how they could come close to eclipsing this film with the next one.

That had to be the smallest General Hospital ever, though.

I had kind of the opposite reaction to the realism. For instance, "Gotham" just seemed kind of bland and banal to me. It was just Chicago. There was nothing dark or sinister about it in any way and I found it took me out of the story. You have this "dark knight" but he's in this clean, normal city.

The Joker was, indeed, spectacular. Stupid asshole Ledger had to go and kill himself.

yes, i was wondering what happened to that bit of stylization that flocked the other movie. the hostpital was decidedly a tack-on. the rest just lacked those little touchés that made the last movie a little fancied. though too much would starting returning to that last batch of BM movies. Maybe they want to strip off the fanciful. i might catch a matinee in a few weeks.

I just caught up with my Conan's on TiVo and they showed a clip with Gary Oldman (who was the guest) on the roof with Batman and Harvey Dent. The scene was like out of The Departed only one guy was wearing a costume.

Great acting, great writing. I enjoyed their attempt at legitimizing the comic book movie.

i hated the first one, loved this one. the whole ending seemed like ti would have worked better as the beggining of the third movie. (it still might, who says 2 face is dead? they had a fake funeral fro gordon, batman dropped the mob guy from the same basic height and only broke his ankles).

Maybe I expected too much having bought my IMAX ticket a week in advance, but, seriously, they should have called it the 'Dialogue Knight'. Yes, it was cool, but all of the psychological claptrap and the constantly in your face score were annoying. I also saw 'Mongol' last weekend. IMHO: twice the movie, half the dialogue, and the fight scenes were better, too.
