I love Big Brain. Cleanest and most organized comic shop I've ever been in.

I'm intrigued about this SEXWORLD place...

Because of slabbing, it seems like you can get some real steals on "reading books" on e-bay.
Just reading (well, looking at art actually). Not for investment.

...for my first taste of falling off the wagon I picked up

Batman Detective Comics #848
(I have a large run of these form past years and wanted to see where it is now)

The New Avengers #44 (read early issues - checking in)
and Invincible Iron Man #5 (also checking in)

Beyond Schinders was lame... pretty much just Marvel and DC titles and only THIS WEEKS releases. I'll be heading to Big Brain soon.

Don't forget Tim Sale and Jeph Loeb's new book is in the works or coming out soon.
Sale/Loeb collabs always get me back to the comic shop.

Big Brain was on our "must stop at" list when we were in mpls. spent a grip on art books, but didnt get to meet michael, who is radical.

as far as comicccs, a friend lent me all 8 trades of the walking dead, which is really really great stuff so far.

I'm reading THE GOON right now and absolutely loving it. You can get them as graphic novels where they put like 5-6 of the comics together and give you sketchbook art and history in the back of the book. Honestly the Writing, Art, Colouring.. Zombies, Comedy, etc... it is all TOP NOTCH.. prob the best title I have read in ages.

Eric Powell is just amazing, he does all the pencils, inking (WITH BRUSH!), colouring, and writing and lettering... out of this world. I'm constantly impressed how much his style switches up from story to story book to book..

Here are some snippets:

Oh, and Powell has one a few Eisner awards to boot!

I hadn't bought any comics in a long time, but picked up the first couple of issues of Jeff Smith's new book, RASL, last week. Seems pretty cool so far, and the drawing/inking is great.
