You can but I don't recommend it - I used mine in Hamburg and got a bill for $3500(!) that was refunded after I complained bitterly.

If you can unlock iPhones now - last i heard you can't - then getting a local SIM would be the way to go.

2g's can be unlocked and jailbroken. 3g's can only be jailbroken.

Blame Apple and their closed architecture.

I was pretty pissed to see tethering wasn't available via bluetooth, like on my 3 year old phone.

Tethering
Cut Copy Paste

this is the question that has been asked since the iPhone hit the market. it's retarded that such a simple feature has taken this long.

File transfer is there .. every option. I use Air Sharing - works awesome.

Tethering .. I've never had a need for it. I can do everything right on the iphone .. why bother bringing a laptop anywhere now and tethering it? no need.

File transfer as easy as a thumb drive is what I want. Not all this Air WiFi bullshit. Just stick it in and load it up.

I use copy an paste all the time ... I use my bberry for heavy email use and copy/paste is something I would not want to be without

Tethering is awesomeness.. again heavy business use requires sometimes to bring a laptop and being able to tether rocks my world
