How do I send text messages using AIM?

To send a text message using AIM for iPhone, tap the IMs button and then tap the new IM button in the upper right corner of the screen. Enter your buddy's full phone number like: +14085551212. You can also enter just the 10 digit number and we'll add the +1 for you. You can also add phone numbers to your Buddy List view by entering the full number in the Add Buddy panel. Currently, you can only send messages to mobile phones in North America (phone numbers in country code 1).

i think the biggest thing that sucks about this product, is in the fact that you have to subscribe with At&t to reap any internet benefits with this machine.

I know it is possible to hack and unlock the phone to be used with any other provider, but I would much rather use T-Mobile as my service provider

Yeah, I hate AT&T! I use Sprint and love it. Since they were the first cell companies to start this whole cell phone madness back in the mid-nineties, they have the most towers than anybody else. Hell, i can't get a hold of some people around San Francisco because they have no service because of AT&T. Also, the unlimited nights start at 9PM. Who in the hell am I gonna call on the Eastcoast at midnight? I can't call my family in Texas at 11 at night. Sprint is 7PM. Sprint also has the 450 minutes package (internet, text, etc.) for $69.99. AT&T is the same price +$20 for unlimited text. WHAT?! Anyway, I would love to get a iPhone but, AT&T sucks and they are total rip offs as well.

I switched from Sprint to AT&T 4(?) years ago. Coverage is fine, rates are fine. I'll probably get the iPhone in Oct, when I'm upgrade eligible. I figure by then even better apps will be out, and maybe v2.1 of the OS.

the best app so far is the remote. they need to include some IR remote function on the next incarnation so that I can control the whole home theater system.

You may want to look into the iLoveControl app, it might be what you are looking for.

2 weeks of having mine, thing has a hardware malfunction, by no fault of mine.

I love remote.. specailly when I go out to the warehouse and the music is loud you cant talk to employees.. I just turn it down from my phone!

I just installed "Simplify".. it streams music from your mac to the iphone. So now I got my 600+ albums on my iTunes in my pocket.. I hook the iPhone up to my car and I can stream my music. Works flawlessly around town. Haven't trued to test the range yet.
