    That time period was so weird. Half the punk bands starting to play metal influenced hardcore and the other half heading off into emo land.

    is there a reason why nobody seems to have Kill 'em All at the top of their Metallica list? It's always been the only record of theirs i've ever really enjoyed listening to other than the first Garage Days ep.

    I like that record just fine. Not my favorite. it showed the potential of where they were headed. The first Garage Days was awesome and I agree it's probably one of their best records. Certainly the best Jason Newstead record. The Misfits covers were excellent.

    And their cover of Whiskey In The Jar on the second covers record is in my top 5 Metallica songs ever.
