the bitmapped tiff file printed perfectly. i'm now waiting for the next one to come out where i messed with the OPI settings.

could my image setting have something to do with it?

got it working. i will say having a paid copy off CS3 is totally worth it for the tech support. i just had to change the "Send Data" setting to "All" from optimized subsampling.
