The subject matter is always kind of stupid. But I don't really mind the overly polished sparkly look. I have no hang ups with the exploits of photoshop.

i have always been very curious as to why the designers that create that style of artwork used the strangest fonts. not that impact or aachen doesn't fit the work well for the job or any job... just that i was taught that it was a no no from what people say (ie no microsoft/ apple system fonts). is it a lack of budget, a lack of knowledge, or is it some bad ass dude just sayin fuck it this looks real. i mean you can't deny it--a skeleton smoking a cigar. RULES. and the stretched out type works, but what was the reasoning behind it?

that shit works and i can appreciate that its own style has risen up and helped to create an artistic movement that you can no longer deny.

but on the opposite side of the spectrum for instance, take that cherry coke design that jay-z did. totally sucks--and they used house's chalet. looks like crap. and house's fonts are top notch, technically advanced... whatever.

i don't know what i'm saying... i probably sound like a douche, sorry. i started thinking about that thread that was posted the other day about why certain fonts are chosen for different styles of music. it's fascinating.
