My first job in NYC was to cut down and number one of his editons. He called up one day and I picked up the phone. He said something like "It's Bob," or "It's Robert". and I was all like "Bob who?". Pays to be polite on the phone. That's what I learned that day.

Man this just ruined my day. I had always hoped to lure him back to Austin to do a print. He was a genius.

I was just at the Menil this last week. That Rauschenberg is damn huge. I like a lot of his work - especially his cardboard box stuff. The Byzantine chapel and the Cy Twombly were also highlites for me at the Menil Collection.
