Default Metallica

Metallica is playing the Wiltern May 14. Is $200 a ticket reasonable?
Is there going to be a poster?

no. metallica fucking sucks.

go back some 20 years and see them, that'd be worth a $200 dollar ticket. of course then it might of been 5 bucks.

i really am a jerk.

i saw them at the fillmore in 2003. it was all fan club and radio contest winners, but it was totally awesome seeing them in such a small venue. once in a lifetime kinda shit.

i wouldn't have paid 200 for the ticket, but i did end up making more than that reselling the show-dated tee shirts they sold there.

I saw them in 84. I saw them in 88. I have not and have no desire to see them again. No matter how good the music is... James new style of "singing" ruins everything. And the lyrics are just weird and lame now. It's like they all grew up and forgot what the hell made them Metallica in the first place.

Interested to hear what Rick Rubin can do with them. Apparently he has been making them all listen to the first 3 Metallica records non stop during production.

yeah, that would have been awesome in 84. i had never seen them, so my daughter and i had a blast at the fillmore. death angel opened. we were there the night it was all radio contest winners from around the country. that made it pretty interesting as well. that was the night that i learned that metallica is like a religion to some guys. i also saw every argument for and against girls wearing leather. it was a lot of fun.

saw them in the 80's, it was awesome. It was an outdoor show. Kids were piling up trash and lighting bonfires and dancing around them.

Saw them open for Ozzy, with Cliff ('86), then Justice tour ('88), both awesome. I wouldn't pay for a ticket now, for the same reasons Mike states. James thinks he's Nick Cave. I'm OK with them changing their sound, but the songwriting and arrangements SUCK. Total nosedive.
