I saw them for Ride the Lightning, And Justice... and Black Album tours. Every time they were killer. But they are tired and lame now. I wouldn't go to see them for free.

I will be seeing them at bonnaroo this year. I used to love old Metallica, haven't been into them so much in recent years though. i was turned off by the whole napster fiasco. Still pretty stoked to see them.

justice tour - awesome

black album tour - awesome, as long as they weren't playing anything from the black album

Saw them at the new Wembley Stadium last year and they were brilliant - as much as their 'new' stuff sucks balls, they still have the back catalogue to make them worth seeing live.

I don't like James' new 'singing' style either but I think it was a necessary change he had to make after blowing his voice out on the Black album.

I'll be intrigued to see what the new CD is like: but going on a new song they played the other year at Donington and the constant delays, i'm not holding out much hope.

Interested to hear what Rick Rubin can do with them. Apparently he has been making them all listen to the first 3 Metallica records non stop during production.

Rubin is amazing - I picture them sitting in a circle holding hands with their eyes closed while he just chants 'REGRESS' over and over.
