justin and i are printing in rochester for the week, doing a series of
images he shot over the last year. huge (2-3 feet image size, and some
are dyptics) intaglio (giant hand ink'd PETG plates run through an
etching press) process color prints. this is a printing method that
justin co-created that only a handful of people in the world do, so
prints in this method are extremely rare (plus, its a complete pain in
the ass to even pull off, nevermind the time and materials and
knowledge required). so over the next week well be printing 10-15 new
prints, and keeping a pretty constant process blog on the whole thing.
i should note, that via this blog and communication with justin
directly, may be the only time to purchase said prints, as the
editions of each will be less than 10 total, some considerably less,
with many earmarked for galleries, upcoming space1026 shows, and
buyers already. if anyone is interested in purchasing a print they see
on the blog, or has questions about the process were doing (since it
is fairly complicated), please feel free to contact us directly at 267
229 2271 while we are here at the studio, and we may be able to get
your copy printed while we are here. all prints are being prepped and
proofed here in rochester NY over the next week, and all subsequent
orders we cant fill here will be printed at the center of contemporary
printmaking in norwalk CT at a later date TBD.
hanging on the wall: cmykprogress <- the blog
examples of a past dyptic set done in this method. (which is sold)
i just got one hung above my bed...
ill be here manning the computer a bit this week, as im doing the file
prep work and color editing side of things, so well do our best to
keep up on the emails... phones are quicker..
so, keep your eyes out. well be posting preview images and final
results as they come out...
