Default home remodeling - show it

so i had to tear some drywall out of my master closet to fix some plumbing in the guest bathroom and decided to just rip all the shelves out and totally redo the closet with some new shelves and drawers and stuff. once i ripped all the old shelves out, there were so many layers of paint and drywall compound i decided to just rip out all the drywall and start fresh. then i wanted to put a new light fixture in as my old one has a pull chain to turn it on and off. not wanting to climb in the attic to run wires, i cut a hole for a new electrical box in the ceiling next to where i'm gonna put the new light fixture and put a motion sensor wired to it to automatically turn the light on when you walk in. it's getting late so tomorrow all the new drywall goes up, then taping and stuff. then texturing and painting. then i finally get to build all the shelves and drawers. i've been takin pics and will post when done.

everyone else feel free to post some pics of stuff you've done to your house. i've done some other shit i'll post and maybe we can get some ideas from each other for DIY home stuff.

I'd have to take pictures of every room in my house. We bought a gutted 2 story and rehabbed it top to bottom before moving in.

Never again.

i feel the same way and did the same thing. except i lived in the house during the whole remodel. my house is only 700sq.ft., it fuxking sucked. worst idea i ever had was to do a complete remodel in a house i lived in. I mean everything too, completely tore out the kitchen, all the walls, all the electrical, almost all the plumbing, new hardwood floors in the whole house.

one of the smartest things i did was coming to the realization that i could not do it all and paid people to do most of it. i just did all the demo (with help of friends), framing, and other minor shit.

i got really lucky and my electrition/my handyman only charges mt $30 per hour. Plumber was a resonably price, super glad i had him come in as he found a lot of mistakes that the last owner made doing it all himself. stuff like the main pipe going to the city sewer was going up hill. hardwood floors were paid for due to an insanely good seattle flatstock. and the sheetrock, well there was no way i was gonna do it myself.

i'm totally broke now and basically have do the rest myself. luckily its all pretty easy. i do have the ahnyman finishing up the electrical and drywall in the bathroom.

i am dealing with foundation problems. i just had gutters put on but it looks like i need to do a french drain. when i get the rain water problems taken care of i have to level my house. this will destroy my tile in my kitchen so it will be tile time. which is more than fine by me because i want to get rid of the tile and repaint and get some earth tone tiles put down.

Front door opens into dining room.

Which is open to the living room.

These are my elevations for the kitchen remodel. We actually moved the kitchen, which used to be where the living room is now. There was a laundry room and a large walk-in closet along a long hallway that split the shotgun style apartment into front and back. I moved the kitchen to this location in the very center of the apartment.

This is a 3D model rendering I did before we began the renovation.

Closet and laundry gutted for the new kitchen.

Custom cabinets installed.

Finished kitchen.
