some of Autechre's new stuff has a very weird ambient feel. Almost like the dead cold of space feel.

Not a massive hip hop fan either, although Anticon put alot of good alternate stuff out.
I listen to electronica when im working, stuff like Arovane, Autechre, Plaid, Tatamax, Jega, Wisp, AFX, Quinoline Yellow, etc
Good for the late night caffeine fuelled art attacks!

I feel like most of those shows skipped DC in the past, but are now becoming commonplace here.

I'm still pissed MSTRKRFT is playing the same night in B-More, when Justice is playing DC in March. They should say F it and play the after party.
Oh word, a Justice poster! Nice, Cant wai to see it. MSTRKRFT should have just played the after party...I saw Erol Alkan after Justice in Chicago. It was one of his 3 North American shows...lotsa fun

I mainly just listen to hip hip. But there are a lot of cats in the chicago area mixing electro/80s synth/hip hop??? shit together right now. Some of it sounds like Justice and shit like that. MySpace.com - Fool’s Gold - NEW YORK, New York - Club - www.myspace.com/foolsgoldrecs

Fools gold records. A-trak i think tuns it. That's Kanye's DJ. This girl Kid Sister is under them and she is hot and pretty damn good too.

Prefuse73, Piano Overlord, Savath y Savalas, RJD2, Telefon Tel Aviv, DJ Shadow,
Elliot Lipp, EOTO, Zilla, MO2, Anasia..
I've never seen MSTRKFRT, would love to. BTW, seripops packaging for The Looks is still one of my faves.

Electronic music can be really good. I rmember Kraftwerk's stuff, esp Computer World, made a big impression when it first came out. Every now and then I hear electronic music that I love but have no idea who it is.

Hip hop I don't like anymore. Sometimes I'll hear hiphop where I like the beats and production and sampled collages as music but then it gets ruined when some dude starts RAPPING over it. wtf? To me, the value of talking over music (whether rhyming or not) is strictly limited, at this point.

Yeah, that's kinda weird, but homie Noyz319 (the dude who runs it) is based out of Saskatoon. UGSMAG has been holdin' it down for indie Canuck shit for years. Noyz is also a pretty tight illustrator/designer.
