i saw led zep about times. the last time was around 75. every time i went to see them i thought they were terrible. i always swore i'd never go see them again. yet, things were so damn dull in the 70's that when a band like zep came to town, we went anyway. i remember once standing in front of the speaker stacks (because no one else would stand there, so i had a place to stand). my ears bled after that one. my date would never go out with me again after that.

i just remember zep being considerd a cheezy sell-out corporate band even back then. listening to plant stutter/scream out, "did you come to booooooogie?" and i knew all i needed to know. page was so so smashed he'd trip and stumble across the stage. bonham was so sloppy he couldn't keep a steady rythm. plant just ignored everything and flirted with the chicks (and the drag queens) in front. the whole thing was a big fucking mess. sorta like guns and roses or motley crue at their worst. terrible.

but, i went again and again. that's how bad things got in the 70's. we'd automatically go see see big touring bands because it was the only show in town. nothing else to see/do at all. period. even radio was empty.

good records, thought. terrible live band.
