I'm listening to them right now, Never get's old. I don't put music into catagories. If I like that's pretty much all that matters.

I have some friends that like it now and hate it tomorrow. Like there not happy unless it something new or there own little thing they found before anybody else,.... Whatever

he was usually good for one or two tracks per lp. then you could toss the rest out. once in awhile he would score higher, but man, there's a lot of drek in his career.

for instance 'heroes' may be the greatest 1/2 record in history. i don't think anyone ever listened to the 'other' side more than once.
well, Pinups is a crap covers album. Diamond Dogs has some crap on it but mostly really good. Heroes... the 2nd side isn't rock'n'roll but it's got that cool, ambient Eno thing happening. matter of taste, I sppose. kind of experimental for the time, esp for a big artist. lots of his songwriting was mostly really interesting and cool.

in the 70s, Bowie was kind of an anomaly in that he was a "star" but also cutting edge. nowadays it seems you can be mainly one OR the other.

well, there ya go. pinups is one of my fav bowie records - one of the few i can listen to straight through repeatedly. i also like hunky dory and alladin sane (still have to skip over things like 'lady stardust'). but 'cracked actor' and 'panic in detroit' and 'watch that man' are brilliantly twisted nasty tunes.

could never get into ziggy stardust. too whimpy for my tastes. never could understand the critical acclaim.
