the cartoon sucked so i couldn't care less about the movie. The Mach 5 is cool however.

true...I watched it every afternoon in my youth, Speed Racer, then Ultraman. I dig the airbrushed look of the cars and stuff...

Interesting but not a surprise. Iron Man is way cooler and I would imagine has a much larger built in fan base than Speed Racer.

A lot of those videos are available in box sets at Best Buy and stuff..TOHO studios, Eji Tsuburaya was the genius behind the rubber suited monster special effects. Weird watching them now, as kids shows there were people smoking, drinking, bleeding and dying etc.

Speed Racer was a flop? Cool, mach 5 toys will be super cheap soon!

We were at Toys R Us buying a sandbox on Saturday... there's some cool (i.e. solid, heavy) die cast cars that are like $25... snatch them up when they go in the bargain bin.

Space Giants came out a bit later on than Ultraman. Without using Goggle, what was the name of the object he held in his hand and thrust into the air in order to transform into Ultraman. No Wikipedia now.
