Default So-Cal Fire Poster Project

as you may have seen, southern california, particularly san diego has been ripped apart by disastrous wild fires (and not all the homes destroyed were million dollar ones like reported in the news. many were working, middle class families)* i was watching the news and seeing the 500,000 + people who were evacuated and all those who have lost everything and thought hey, a poster project for these people might be a great idea.*

i was a participant in The Hurricane Poster Project that you may be aware of. it was conceived as a collective effort to help out those effected by hurricane Katrina. it was very*successful in*raising needed funds, so i have contacted it's founder and asked if i could use his model for this effort, The So-Cal Fire Poster Project. our goal for the project is to raise as much money as possible for the Red Cross, with the money raised earmarked for so-cal fire relief. i am posting here in hopes some of you would like to participate and do a poster for the project.

i have all the*infrastructure on my end being put in place to get it going, including people to ship, a website to sell the posters from, someone to run the site, a PR firm willing to donate time to get the word out etc.

let me know if you are interested in doing a poster for the project and i will get you more specific info.

thanks for your interest. here is some specific project details:

• Limited edition sets of posters from artists and designers from the US. the donated posters will be sold online, and all proceeds will go directly to the Red Cross , earmarked for so-cal fire relief.
• Posters should be specific to Southern California / Southern California wild fires.
• Minimum size is 11" x 17". Ideal size: 18" x 24". Poster can be produced by Litho, Digital or silk-screen print.
• The posters should be SIGNED/NUMBERED editions. quantities of 25-100. the posters should not be one-offs.
• Artists will be responsible for designing, printing, and delivering the posters to So-Cal Fire Poster Project. although we would like to print them, we don't have the resources to coordinate all of the printing ourselves.
• Posters may include credits for vendors who have donated supplies or services, but please keep them small and unobtrusive.
• All submissions will become property of So-Cal Fire Poster Project., and will be sold to raise funds for the AMERICAN RED CROSS so-cal fire relief effort.
• Artists may determine the selling price of their posters, but So-Cal Fire Poster Project reserves the right to change prices based on availability and demand.

if still interested in participating, send me a message.

thanks again.
