Maybe you guys should start another thread for this topic.

Great Wings/Ducks game tonight. What a wide open 3rd. Bertuzzi actually looked good! But who cares. Wings played well, Ducks didn't have their legs. Or the two players who really made them a championship team.

Paul Stastny with the trick tonight. THis kid is gonna be awesome. Got his dad's touch.

Let's be fair here....I've seen some boring ass football games. Some boring ass baseball games.....try all.....and basketball.....ehh don't even watch it. And of course I've seen some boring ass hockey games...but dammit when a hockey game gets wide open end to end, there's nothing that even comes close. Yeah, they made some changes, but to abandon the sport and call it lame is going a little far IMO. The changes were not THAT radical.

I'd rather watch the play reminiscent of the 1995 Devils and Wings with their left wing lock and tough defense than a quicker offensive game.

But, that's just me.

the wings didn't come back with the left wing lock until the following year after they got fxcking killed by the devils smothering center ice D. scotty bowman and ken holland went out and made the team bigger and stronger after that, then instituted the lock.

i agree with jeph in the fact that the lock out took something from me as a hockey fan that i'll never get back.

The Sharks and Ducks have always sold out games. Even when they sucked. Fact. If hockey is so regional why is there no team in Winnipeg, or Quebec City anymore? If it were regional it wouldn't be in the southern US cities. And when it's not making money in those places or any other place for that matter they move the teams. The same as they move teams out of Canada when they are not making money.

The regional concept is very 1965. It just doesn't hold up.

If you prefer the old clutch and grab way of interfering with the puck carrier I feel sorry for you. Now the game is about hitting the puck carrier. Like it used to be. Like it should be. I am soooo glad they took all that neutral zone hooking out. It totally ruined the game for a good 10 years or so.

I stand by my statement. I'd rather watch a Junior level hockey game than any other pro sport. At it's very worst hockey is 100x more interesting than the other three big league sports.
