God Ovie is a machine. Takes alot for a flyers fan to like a russian but man that kid is amazing. After he scored his 2nd goal tonight he was coming down the boards and someone ran him. Not sure who but they went after him. Fought off the check and I said to myself, "You just pissed him off. He's getting the hat trick tonight." Low and behold!

The just signed Boucher. Played well for the Phantoms. Good for that kid. Almost bought an Esche russian league jersey but it cost like 5 grand wit shipping.

Boucher got a raw deal with the Flyers. He was stellar that one playoff season. He backed stepped the next season and they shipped him off. What a lame ass town for a goalie. You gets NO CHANCE in that town. It's like they expect every keeper that comes to be an instant and non stop version of Bernie Parent or Hextal. They even shit all over Hextal at the end as well.

Mike I agree. The style of play and attitude of the organization does not lend well to being in a crease. But if ya noticed they brought Boucher back in the organization to make a stable of kids confident in their play. They make a mistake they got the old man to save them. Then it comes time to let him go get a paycheck they do. The only reason Hextall is in LA is cause he thought Clarke would be GM forever and he had to make his mark. If you watched his speech he said one thing that sticks and is true. "Once a Flyer ALWAYS a Flyer." Gets us in alot of trouble but well we'll get there. Hextall will be in the fold in the next year or two.
Two guys that will always have a bad taste with the organization. Checkmanek (had to spell that wrong) and ready ready ready Barber! What athlete asks to be taken out on a playoff game! Seriously! Not in this sport! Barber? The coaching thing really really went bad. Screaming at John Leclair in practice. The only thing I can say his wife was dying at the time but he really went bonkers. When I was a kid he took me into the locker room after practice and was awesome. Hated to see him lose it as a coach. Fuck it hes a Hall of Famer and a flyer! Clement is still bitter about getting traded. Great announcer. If I hear that douche from Jersey say "Knifed it into the zone" one more time I'll go nuts.

Shitmanek was one of the best regular season goalies ever. he just folded under playoff pressure.
The Flyers could take the best goalie in the world and bury him. Like, if they got Kipper or Lundqvist... both of them would be reduced to minor leaguers inside of two seasons. Until the Flyers get that mess figured out they won't be able to win a Cup. Bummer as a Flyers fan to realize that. The Kings seem to do the same.

Lundqvist is a bit overrated. Second Highest paid goalie in the league behind Luongo. Shitmanek (and im glad u said it) was a COMPLETE pussy!
As far as ruining goalies yer seeing that right now. Nitty didnt get the MVP for the Olympics for nothing. Biron is good but not the answer. Not big enough. I like that he has taken the flyers attitude though. FUCK YOU SPEZZA! On another note. Guess who shot the shit wit a Sens scout in a go-go bar the night before the trade deadline?

King Henrick is the real deal. He is the perfect goalie for late 2000's NHL. He's a HUGE Swede who plays the Scandinavian system butterfly style perfectly. He's god damn awesome. Same with Kipper.
Nitty is a great goalie. I'm bummed they only gave him ONE season to make his mark. He played amazing season before last and then... last season was well... last season. Everyone sucked. Nitty got shit on and they picked up Biron. Biron is really good and he seems like a great fit. But, watch... they give the guy half a season to put up top 5 numbers or he is out. Unrealistic expectations is an understatment.

The Kings don't seem to actively drive their goalies into oblivion. They occasionally bail on them early (Huet, Garon), but they tend to stick with anyone who's half-decent. Storr had chance after chance to take the job. The fans seem pretty appreciative of any goalie that's solid-to-above average (probably because they're starved for a Top 5 type goalie). They've been rough on Cloutier, though. Running out of patience, I s'pose.
Ersberg looked decent in his start. Hope Bernier pans out down the road... Or that they trade all their picks for Luongo....
