They weren't even that great in 78. C'mon, Dale McCourt and Reed Larson?

Fuck those Wings jerseys. I played on a team named after the Red Wings for 5 seasons. I never ever wore a Wings jersey. I had a plain white for home games and a plain red for away. I flat out refused to ever wear a Red Wings jersey. And I never will. That is how deep the hate goes.

they sucked BAD in 1978. if i remember right, alex delvecchio was still coaching and they missed the playoffs.

I think the reason I have always hated them is the fact that they have never ever had a goalie I liked. Aside from Manny Legace. And the way they treated him and Cujo made me hate them more. If that was even possible.

they've never had a goalie i liked much either (aside from manny). i had high hopes for legace, but the wings quit on him. he had a good season as a starter too.

i despised cujo, but then again, he was hurt. we covered this last season.

Our coaching carousel is as active as our starting goaltender carousel...this team needs stability in some aspect....jeeez. That's another reason I'm soured on hockey...this team has stunk solid for the last 10 years and I can't root for another.
