Ok... So, I got prices for making 100 pieces of my toy ( see below )
I have a couple of options...
All options are made of high strength resin... like a shift knob... and are fully paintable, glue-able, etc...
All models are raw and unfinished... None of these would be painted.
Option 1- would come with 1 eyeball, 3 hats( trucker, fez, and viking helmet ), and a pair of wings... like a model kit with seam lines, un-sanded. Retail would be about $50.
Option 2- would come with 1 eyeball, 3 hats ( same as above ), and a pair of wings... like a model kit but cleaned up and sanded. Retail would be about $60.
Option 3- would come with 1 eyeball w/wings attached and 1 fez hat and would retail for around $50.
Option 4- would come as a single piece... flying eyeball wearing a fez hat and would retail for about $30.
All would come in a regular cardboard box... I will probably get a 1 color label / sticker screen printed for it.
After mold charges, manufactoring, and shipping... I would make about $10 per toy... which I think is way beyond reasonable considering the cost and effort.
My questions are... How many people would actually buy them and which option
is the best way to go?
Do you guys prefer multipe pieces, finised edges, rough, etc???
Please help me decide what is best and PLEASE feel free to ilaborate on your thought.
Here's a picture of the toy for those of you who smoke too much pot...
The arrow is not an option because no one seemed to like it...
Size: the eyeball alone is almost the same size as a baseball and would weigh about 1 1/2 pounds ( it'll be solid )
