Need MSF Course. I set it up for Mid March.
Patience. I have zero. And when I want something...I want it now.

Buy all my posters Rob.
How tall are you? Frank gave a good piece of advice, go around to dealers and sit on a bunch of different bikes. Make sure that the 695 not only appeals to your eyes, but that you like how it feels. That's what's gonna matter to you on a 300 mile Sunday ride. Also, go ahead and sign up for the MSF course while you're going to dealers. The wait can be kind of lengthy some places. My buddy and I bought our first bikes within a month or so of each other, and both had to wait several months on a list before there was a class with openings.
Oh, you've signed up. Word.
I know...
I already set up the MSF...Had to wait til March. Works for me. Gives me time to get everything else organized. Plus...its the middle of winter.

Yeah, go find one and sit on it. Make sure you like the stance and balance for your frame. I'm 6'4 and the problem I have is a lot of bikes are just too damn small for me physically. It sucks, because while I don't think I need all the power of some of the bigger bikes they're the only ones that I don't feel like a monkey on a football. Actually that's what I like so much about the Yamaha FZ-1, which hopefully will be my next bike (someday). It just feels good to me when I sit on it. Very natural riding position for me.
I started 25 years ago with a stolen Kinko's card and a shitty bicycle. If I can do it you can too. - Kozik
For the record, I also enjoy snack cakes and receiving fellatio. - ENM
Reading "The Art of Seduction" saved me a lot of money on Roofies.
I was stuck in this giant RV with Keith Richards and he kept tickling my ass and trying to toss my salad. - B-DROID

that's quite a machine (the duke)
I really like the exile style too, that show they had where the guy has to build a bike in a month was funny/entertaining. I just saw one where the english guy and some rasta longhair each built custom bikes then had to ride them to new hampshire - the longhair's caught fire and burned about 20 miles from the gig.
vibration probably split the tank open.
something to be said for smooooth riding bikes. I had a Norton used to regularily vibrate the exhaust manifolds loose on the freeway and snap clutch cables like elastic bands. I rode 200 miles one time with no clutch. couldn't have been good for the gearbox.
