Bought this over the weekend, it's a replica of a 1938 BMW made by Chang Jiang. I have a little work to do to it to get it road worthy but not much. I'm sure I'll post better pics once I have a chance. I've wanted one of these for a while so now I know what I'm doing for the rest of the Summer.

I picked this one up in NC, but you can find them all over. They are super CHEAP, but they are not just hop on and ride bikes you gotta be willing and not mind tinkering. Basically 1938 technology. This one was $4100, and the parts can be found in a few place and they are also really cheap. This one is titled as an 89' but the importing documents show that it was rebuilt in 1967 for the Chinese army on a 1957 BMW frame and then again in '89 and shipped to the US in '04. One other thing about these, they are / were not built for speed, MAYBE 60mph tops with two people.

You can actually buy them all tricked out with military regalia, Wehrmacht gray, desert tan, and even a fake gun for the front of the sidecar. I think complete paid for including shipping you can probably get a "new" one for around $8000, but that's shipped in the US and port fees can sometimes be added on.

It's gonna be great fun, can't wait to take my son camping. The trunk in the side car is freaking HUGE!

I had a '66 600/2 with earls fork front end, you wouldn't want to do 60 if it could. But with a bike that cool, you don't flog it.

What a score. It looks in beautiful shape. You pull up anywhere you will be beating the yakkers off with sticks. Better print up some hand out business cards with the basic info on it. Congratulations.

My helper - she's great for getting in and cleaning small areas. Got a new tire the other day, just need some nice weather now.
