The sad fact is that there are and they do get made but people dont support them.

Fantastic Mr Fox (yes an adaptation I know) was one of the best things I saw last year. Of all films. And it barely made $35M
No one went to see 9 either.
Mizayaki cant pull Disney numbers in America even tho his stuff is massive worldwide.

People in aggregate just kinda...suck. And this is the result of that.
