    seeing those poor dudes struggle to hold on as the ship capsizes, only to fall and smash into other parts of the ship before being plunged into the water...ughghg drowning would be pretty damn terrible.

    True but on the Szent Istvan (first clip) only 89 died out of a crew of 1000+. Those guys knew how to swim, and there were other ships nearby.

    Not many survivors from HMS Barham.

    I think the worst would be to work down in the boiler room. No chance of getting out because the first thing they do when the ship starts flooding, is close the watertight doors, sealing you in.
    Then if you don't drown in the darkness from flooding, the boilers burst and you are scalded to death.

    Yeah my Pops spent 3 years in the boiler room of a Destroyer, NO FUCKIN THANK YOU!!! He would pull pranks like wearing his life preserver for three days straight while in the middle of the pacific, just long enough to make the other sailors that knew he ran the boilers nervous.
