And few people are saying anything with their music.

Every time we bury a Joe Strummer, or a Joey Ramone, I'm looking around to see who the new visionaries are, & all I see are a bunch of copies of a copy. This generation doesn't have a Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, Johnny Thunders, Darby Crash, or a Tom Waits.

We have more tech & information at our fingertips than ever in human history. It's never been easier for anyone to research, learn, network, distribute, record, edit, & publish their won shit. Yet, we've skipped twenty years of a new movement?

Don't read this like I'm yelling at anyone, but those silly scene cartoons were exactly the same twenty years ago. It was funny then because it was still new. It's long been past time to rip all that down & start it all over again. Now, it's like visiting at a nursing home.

the problem is that there is TOO MUCH out there now. it's like looking for a needle in a stack of needles as they say. every jackass with a computer can make an album and put it out for cheap. this wasnt the case in the past. and bands or musicians motivations are far different for the most part. less pure.

still...

ive seen many acts that are completely original and really pushing the boundaries of what has been done and where music can go. you just have to get lucky and stumble upon them. but they are there.
