    Did you know he did a zine called Matt Lukin's Legs? Wasn't Matt (later of Mudhoney) the original bassist for The Melvins, a job Joe later held?

    Yep. And I got "Mangled Demos from 1983" for xmas. This is the earliest recordings of the Melvins, only ones w/ the orig lineup (Buzzo, Matt Lukin, Mike Dillard).

    It's pretty good punk rock/hard rock... faster than the stuff which came later. Buzz's voice is great, really intense and wild, almost metallic in its tone.

    saw/met him when the whip came through. super nice, quiet, and funny.
    hell of a gee-tar player, though i guess he's known mostly for bass.

    I'm kind of hoping that George does some more shows with them. At least until the L.A. show.
