I liked using "Logic"
garage band is EASY EASY EASY and fun, but also quite limited. that's all i know.
I do everything in Adobe Audition & Goldwave.
If you can get your hands on Pro Tools... you wont regret it.
cake walk is WAY cheaper.
as it is soley ( I believe ) a software program.
like $49 vs $1000
n-track and Soundforge are two decent/affordable PC options, too.
At least last time I looked.
protools.
it's the same thing as when you first buy a guitar or anyhing like that. if you get something inferior, you'll want the good stuff later on, and end up paying more than if you'd saved up and got the better stuff in the first place.
My brother uses Logic on his dual G5. He loves it. However, he did mention something about wanting ProTools or getting it recently.
