Probably gonna take in the Western States show on Friday. I haven't been to the West End in far too fuckin' long, and they're doin' a bake sale with it.

just got back from the Hot Live Guys show, with Raiden and Minority Justice League at the albert.. pretty intense show for the most part. Hot Live Guys killed as expected.. i lost track of how many times the lead guitarist came flyin off the stage and face planted. awesome.

Joe is fuckin' nuts. That's a big part of their appeal, in a way...he's this giant ball of energy, and the rest of the dudes manage to keep up. And they're really good players. The first time I saw them play, they did this prog-rockish guitar trio intro thing that was amazing (Kurtis borrowed one of the Quiffs guitars). From there, they just fuckin' demolished the stage.

Listening to the Western States' debut album. Really good. Sean's got this interesting baritone.
I got interested in this band because up until this, Sean (the lead dude) was a hip-hop everyman: wrote graf, hosted an awesome college radio rap show (Tonearm Tactics), and showed up at every gig. If you were to tell me he was gonna front a country group several years later, I'd have called you a fuckin' liar.

totally. he is by far the craziest performer i've seen in a band, thus far. he knocked over a couple tables, a few times. some dudes were playing pool, and he came flyin off the stage, crashed into the table, and ended up playin a 1/4 of the song lying in the middle of the pool table.. the guys didn't look happy.. i don't think they were actually there to see HLG hahah. gotta love the albert.. don't get a show like that anywhere else, really..
