is that what made Milwaukee famous Josh? Cause now I'm really looking forward to my trip.
60 pages in and this thread just KEEPS GETTING BETTER. weeble wobble BEWBZ!
Johnny, your avatar is watching them bewbs.
Thanks--I find it rather impressive myself..just to sum up your own personal mastery of the internet, and to explain your future to you: you made an attempt at getting into the world of publishing silkscreened art prints, a medium you know nothing about. so you went to a website filled with knowledge & opportunity that launched a thousand design careers, showed an incoherent understanding of copyright law, and managed to piss off one of the best screenprinters in the united states AND one of the best screenprinters in canada, as well as embarrass yourself in front of an entire community of people with PR connections and gallery connections, writers of art blogs, clients with job opportunities, artists with screenprinting knowledge, pre-press skills, and disposable income. ...just so were clear.
Forget my future--- I try to live in the eternal now--Let's talk about yours...
1st let's talk about 'disposable' income since you(and more than a few other thread contributors) seem to be rather obsessed with that topic:
Dmouse says--nor compare careers. because well... that just sounds like a nightmare.Selling prints for "hundreds of dollars" and you can't even make a symbolic fucking $20 pledge?Diposable income is an oxymoron when there are so many people in this world with little to no income. Of course, this community does seem a bit geared to those who have enough income to waste it on disposable items, such as the garbage some of you are selling(I think you know who I'm talking about)...I hope you intend to donate all the proceeds of your next print(how about to an AIDS organization?), which sells for "hundreds of dollars", since you have no need, or rather are happy to dispose(throw away)any income that you reap from them.dmouse says: oh i certainly COULD...
Really, what kind of solipsistic universe are you living in? Up until now, I just thought your prints were a little juvenile, but you come off as an arrogant, elitist little child. Do you think that for one second I care that the Andys are pissed off? AndyD pulled a gun on me
and macCheesy has yet to make one coherent comment--the best that he could do was try to garner my empathy with some tasteless ruse that AndyD injured himself.
Frankly, they have both acted like little children and when you take their ages into account, well who embarrassed themselves? How does it look when the "great" creator of the “classic” bumper sticker slogan, MEAN PEOPLE SUCK, shows himself to be a jaded, cynical, MEAN old bastard? Who points a gun at me, has “someone” do internet research to find out my 'real name' and then makes some really bad AIDS comment...
I still don't know or care who AndyD or you think you are. I write bumper sticker slogans in my sleep and flush 'em down the toilet with a morning hurl...Do you really believe that a "great" artistic statement such as MEAN PEOPLE SUCK has any relevance outside of your little clique of fanboys? Does the fact that he has been able to garner 'disposable' income from it, make me jealous?AndyD says, as if he were me speaking....I have aids, this is my last post ever!
No, I'm not interested in using my Art(not commercial design work..yes, there is a huge difference—which I really am not interested in pursuing any longer(and haven't been long before I posted here)—I sure as fuck, don’t want to end up a hollow man—I think I’ll take macCheesy’s advice and take up shitfarming…After all, many of you already think I’m completely full of it…) to make money..it is an end unto itself..and the only reason I choose to go on kicstarter and try and promote it here(which btw, I knew was a lost cause)..is because I wanted a set of those prints for myself, but yes you're correct I know very little about silk screen printing, except that it is costly. But, now that I know it would only cost ~$200 to make them I think I will..Don't worry, I'm not selling them here or anywhere. They're for me.
As to my misunderstanding of Copyright law, why don't you present a decent argument against the "transformative" defense that I gave you? Unless you are willing to throw out the 1st Amendment I don't think you can, nor do I care-REALLY, I DON'T…Actually, I guess you found my defense “incoherent” and being I’m tired of explaining things to you, especially stuff I DON’T care about, I propose that you defend this statement of yours, instead:If you do, I may actually come back on here and post a response. Or better yet, defend Shizz-ouka and why a person like RickG(with the AIDS baby icon, <cute>) is welcomed here..that would be good for laughs..“side note, my college minor was in american music history with a pretty strong emphasis on jazz. which by the way has been COMPLETELY useless. its fucking jazz, it has no place in academia.”
....You have been bating me and accusing me from the very beginning of trying to hide something, which I clearly wasn't and now you have the gall to sit there and try to rub your 'disposable' income in my face?
"money doesn’t talk, it swears
Obscenity, who really cares
Propaganda, all is phony"Why don't you take your 'disposable' income and wipe your snotty little nose with it?"Money is like manure, of very little use except it be spread."
I said all that I had to say here..for those who took the time to listen I thank you...Steve W and danstiles, who I forgot to thank before, I thank you...
I am sure there are actually some wonderful artists on this site, but I seriously doubt that they have been following this post, which has consisted primarily of sophomoric and inappropriate jokes from men who should be old enough to know better..and I certainly am not trying to condemn this entire community—Although, I suggest you get a new moderator…
This will probably be my last post(you can stop hiding, standard)..Have fun stroking each other's egos and continuing your attack on me..I won't be following it...However, if all goes well there might be one final post that I'll be making...and I can guarantee that it'll be the best post ever posted on gigposers.
