Out of curiosity, does your disdain for swing dancers come from never seeing any good ones? Are you only familiar with the era of neo-swing, or ballroom swing, or that total shit that goes on on SYTYCD despite Nick's best efforts to choreograph a good routine? Are you not familiar with how it's completely intertwined with the history of jazz, and how all three of the musicians you are using played for dancers and are played frequently at swing venues, and were likely dancers themselves? Because you can't only listen to "art jazz," which has more in common with classical music, being elitist and closed off from the uneducated, because you wouldn't be trying to pay tribute to those three. Because if you haven't ever seen any good dancers, I would be more than happy to give you a Youtube tour.
