but when it's snowing he wears skimo jeans
Good thing I worked mostly in acrylics (not photoshop) and Kickstarter didn't exist when I was 17.
A while back I went on an internet cleaning frenzy, removing *most* of the utter rubbish I posted around the web back then, quite a harrowing experience. I am still an argumentative dick when posting online, but that's why I love a good GP thread, I fit in rather nicely with the other assholes.

I'm being dead serious here, our plane couldn't land so we got diverted to Vancouver at 1:30 in the morning and I'm standing in a lineup waiting for a voucher for a hotel and it isn't a nice end to our holiday. I've got on shorts and mandels and it's cold outside. So I boot the compute up and here's good ol' GP making me laugh. Way better than facebook. There's life in the old girl yet. We get home tomorrow around 4 o'clock. Keep writing stupid shit. More posters Diesel.
dangermouse--I began writing a new $20 piece for you and I thought I'd begin with a quote from Picasso---inarguably, one of the greatest artists of the 20th century...Because my posts are so scrutinized I wanted to make sure that it was exact, so I did a Google search..Lo and Behold, this is what came up:
to me that says it all and if you were more familiar with your Art history you might know it's kind of like regular history, ie, a story of thieves and robber barons...
But, don't worry--I know you probably want(need) more illustrative pics(and don't worry, they won't be retouched by me) and I do intend to give you your money's worth..
Oh, and Steve W.
I lied about your posters.yeeeeaaaahhh....I lied about the $5
...ok, no I didn't, although I would like to make an addendum:
What's not to like? Steve W.You've got it...It's really great--some Family Dog--folk art--Jazz album covers..Constructivism...Bosch--Warhol..Lichtenstein...Terry Gilliam..Art Deco...Un Chien Andalou...a little Fairey...what's not to like?
... this one's for you:
Or maybe, you'd prefer this one from another one of my favorite stoners:
See Daniel---this is the type of duplicitous, thievish people(not that I'd rank Steve W. with Picasso or even as a fine artist)that I'm talking about.Luke Shapiro: There's enough assholes in the world, Dr. Squires, don't be another one.

ha. every once in a while we need a thread like this to keep the blood flowing.
it always comes back around to someone completely misunderstanding the reason and ideas behind the quotes from famous talented people talking about "stealing". a common misunderstanding that illuminates the problem that lay at the heart of all of the arguments.
I Love too many things about this thread.
Fuck art, lets fart.
Quoting art history is fucking stupid.
guybur--I'd love to reply to you--However, if I can't abide by my own rules, who will?
