Default my house is getting demolished - live/work?

I don't really like to talk about personal stuff on the internet but I am sort of in a fix, so I thought I'd ask here.

I live on the top floor of a house where I do print work, on the North Side of Chicago. Well, I did. We were informed yesterday that the fuckers will be tearing it down and have 30 days to GTFO. It was a sweet spot - I used one of the rooms as a printing area and washed stuff out in the bathtub with a vinyl covering to prevent staining, reclaim outside in the backyard with pressure washer.

I'm wondering if any of you Chicago people know of any good live/work solutions where I could screen print without issue, but also live, with another person and an old dog. Replicate the situation I had here, I guess. Craigslist is turning up a few things but I feel I should examine every resource...

Thanks a lot. This happened, truly, about two days after I finished building a vacuum table from the excellent instructions over on the premium section. I knew switching over from adhesive would cause trouble.

Have you looked into printing at screwball and finding a place to rent in the area?

I moved out of Chicago and bought a house to put my live/work studio in. But that's the "in debt for 30years" approach. Go to Screwball or Pilsen.

Printing around other people scares the dick out of me. But I guess I should either get over that fear or live in the pile of rubble, eating crushed rats.

Move to Birmingham AL. They'll practically give you a house if you ain't scared of being downtown. We've got three new breweries and a new minor league ballpark if that helps.
