Help figuring out a 70's humor book artist...

Hoping somebody might know who I'm talking about from the description of the work... I'm trying to find out the name of an artist who illustrated humorous books in the 70's and probably did other stuff. The characters were human with long noses and big eyes and drawn in a sketchy style that made them look fuzzy. They looked kind of like Fraggle Rock characters. Sorry I don't have more to go on. Any help would be appreciated.
