NYC Possible Gallery Interest

Hey Gigposter designers,

I wanted to gauge interest in a possible "Art of rock" gallery at a print lab in Brooklyn. They often host gallery showings for designers within the lab, and I thought about attempting to organize a NYC gigposter show, displaying leftover prints some of us might have.

I haven't talked with the lab management yet, I wanted to see if there was enough interest first and go from there. It would likely be a small show, but a good chance for a meet-up, and to show your work...again.

I'm going in tonight to finish up work on posters for this weekend, so I could mention it. I just want to be sure there are enough artists willing to display a few works to make the whole thing worth it.

But, i'll put feelers out tonight and see if they're interested in the idea!

I spoke with the lab manager on Thursday and they are definitely interested in hosting this, and it is up to me to figure out a date for the show. But I want to make sure at least a couple gig poster designers want to show their work.

So, just to throw a rough date idea out there, I am thinking maybe mid April/early May?

you might want to target a couple of specific designers and talk to them. if you just do a "who wants to be in it?" you might get a lot of responders interested, but a lot of crap. that being said my april and may seem pretty open.

I'd be down. You may want to contact Mark McCormick, Tara McPherson, Jermaine Rogers, Michael Motorcycle, Johnny Thief, Two Arms...etc. They're all New York/East Coast gig poster artists

Thanks for all of the advise and interest! Just a little update, I am speaking with the shop owner right now and communication has been a little slow going. As soon as I have some solid updates regarding space i'll let everyone know!
