Thanks for all the input guys! I think I am going to file a DBA soon and see if I can make a go of it. I was pretty set on setting up an LLC right out of the gate, but after talking to some friends in town that own businesses I started questioning if I really needed to go that route right away. I also found this while doing google searches on the topic.... New York Small Business Law: Starting a Business All that combined has made me change my mind on setting up an LLC to start with. They have their benefits, and I will definitely set one up in the future if things go well...but starting out I don't think it makes sense for me to drop the money and time on it right away.
