Default SELF-MADE - the mobile letterpress and printmaking studio

    Hey all,

I'm Cody. I design Illustrate, sculpt and love anything else that keeps me creative. I love the work I have seen her so far. An illustrator friend turned me on to this site and I and glad he did. I currently do graphic deign by day and letterpress print on the weekends. Lots of hand cut linoleum work right now.

Since I live out in the country I am currently putting together a mobile letterpress and printmaking studio to help get my little corner of Southwest Missouri introduced to letterpress, screen and other forms of printmaking. Once I have all the bugs worked out I plan on expanding my outreach to other parts of the U.S. My idea for this mobile studio has been turning over in my mind for a couple of years now but I finally found a way to make this project possible. I have put my mobile studio project up on Kickstarter.com, a funding platform to help artists achieve specific art related goals. The project will run from November 18th through December 18th, 2011.

I would love it if you checked out my projects details at SELF-MADE - The mobile letterpress and printmaking studio by Cody Langford — Kickstarter

    Thanks!

    cody

Aawesome + good luck! I've wanted to do something like this myself. Paint my Explorer like the Jurrasic Park vehicle. Travel the country and print large dinosaur relief prints with the weight of my car. Call it Jurassic Prints.

Very cool idea dude, I hope you carry out your vision! My friend and I have been doing live screen printing at events since the beginning of this past summer, it is a blast to interact with people one on one while printing them something, it's been pretty much the polar opposite experience of showing in galleries..

Having a hands on piece of art, shirt, poster or whatever is always better when you can engage the patron somehow. I love to teach so this was just a natural progression. Unless I get a huge jump in interest I don't think that this project will get funded through Kickstarter. I have exhausted all the social media resources I know of and all the local word of mouth. The community in Joplin is very willing to support the project but after the Tornado 6 months ago they don't support monetarily. If anyone knows of a great way to get the word out on a project like this I will be more than happy to take any suggestions that you may have.
